Unix Timestamp Converter

Convert Unix timestamps in seconds or milliseconds into local and UTC time, or turn a date-time back into Unix values.

The tool also shows a live current timestamp so you can grab “now” values without leaving the page.

Timestamp rules

Auto-detect uses digit length: 10 digits or fewer are treated as seconds, while 11 digits or more are treated as milliseconds. Use the unit selector whenever you need to override that assumption.

How it works

Unix time counts elapsed seconds since midnight UTC on January 1, 1970. JavaScript dates use milliseconds internally, so this page converts between seconds and milliseconds and formats the same instant both in your local timezone and in UTC.
